Man Charged After Threatening Police With Weapon Saturday

Skokie police have brought charges against the man who threatened officers Saturday morning near Oakton and Skokie Boulevard, leading to one of the officers shooting the suspect in the leg when other methods failed to subdue him.

Skokie police have released the following statement: 

The Skokie Police Department has filed criminal charges against P. Alan Luche Corro, 1060 North Boxwood Dr., Mount Prospect, IL, for his actions that led to a police-related shooting incident which took place on Saturday, August 31, 2013, at 9:40 a.m.  During the incident, Skokie Police Officers were threatened several times by the offender with a sharp edged knife.  After being assaulted by the offender, a Skokie Police Officer fired one round, striking the offender in the left leg.

Corro was charged with two counts of felony Aggravated Assault, one count of Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Simple Assault, and Attempted Criminal Trespass.

The offender is scheduled to appear at the Second District Courthouse, Skokie, IL, on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at 9:00 a.m., Room #105.  Bond has been set at $150,000 D bond.
