Man Charged with Sex Offense at Old Orchard Mall
Patrons shopping at Westfield Old Orchard Mall in Skokie reported seeing a Glenview man allegedly walking around the mall completely naked and touching himself, police said.
Timothy Francis Heffernan, 47, of the 200 block of Michael Manor Drive in Glenview, was charged with one felony count of public indecency on June 12.
Police responded to a complaint outside Bloomingdale’s in Old Orchard Mall after witnesses said they saw Heffernan allegedly walking around the area completely naked while touching himself, according to the police report. When officers arrived, they found Heffernan inside his SUV naked, the report said. Police searched the vehicle and found a vibrator in the trunk, according to police.
Heffernan refused to answer police questions, the report said.

The alleged suspect was later transported to a site near Golf Road and Waukegan where four witnesses positively identified him, police said. No further information is available at this time.
Heffernan’s court date was June 14.
