Man Steals Jacket, Runs Through Traffic To Waiting Car, Police Say

Theft

• Theft on the 5000 block of Dempster Street between December 9th at 12:00 p.m. and December 12th at 2:41 p.m. reported:  12/12/2013. An unknown person(s) stole a cash box containing money and a camera from a desk drawer. 

Retail Theft

• Retail Theft at 4999 Old Orchard Road, Hollister, on December 12th at 4:30 p.m.  Reported:  12/12/2013. A male black subject, 6’ tall, heavy build, wearing a black puffy coat with a red hoodie, dark colored pants and black shoes, stole a white women’s jacket from the store.  He then ran across Skokie Boulevard and got into an older model sedan that was being driven by two female black subjects.

Criminal Damage to Property

• Criminal Damage to Property on the 8700 block of Karlov Avenue, between December 11th at 6:00 p.m. and December 12th at 8:35 p.m.  Reported:  12/12/2013. An unknown person(s) knocked over the fence.

• Criminal Damage to Property on the 4800 block of Oakton Street, on December 13th between 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.  Reported:  12/13/2013. An unknown person(s) “keyed” the passenger side of a Honda while it was parked in a lot.

Possession of Drug Equipment

• Possession of Drug Equipment on the 9400 block of Kenneth Avenue, on December 13th at 9:08 p.m. Reported:  12/13/2013. While on patrol, a Skokie police officer found a glass tube on the ground that is used to smoke cannabis out of.  No one was around at the time.

Arrests

• Dorko, Kyle R., 20, 37200 block of N. Parma, Lake Villa, was arrested on charges of Possession of Cannabis and Driving on a Suspended/Revoked License on the 8000 block of Skokie Boulevard, on 12/12/2013.

• Black, Malcom T., 20, 300 block of Sherman Avenue, #2, Evanston, was arrested for Battery on the 4900 block of Old Orchard Road, on 12/12/2013. Black was arrested for placing his hands around the neck of another employee, police said.

• Cadet, Marie K., 42, 10000 block of Frontage Road, #G, was arrested on charges of Driving with a Suspended/Revoked Driver’s License on the 4600 block of Golf Road, on 12/13/2013.

• Carey, John D., 49, 700 block of Dobson Avenue, #Grdn, Evanston, was arrested on a Warrant for Violation of an Order of Protection.

• Sykes, Marquez K., 18, 2000 block of W. Birchwood Avenue, #3, Chicago, was arrested on charges of Theft and Deceptive Practices on the 4900 block of Old Orchard Road, on 12/13/2013.

• Castillo, Jose F., 25, 1600 block of W. Farwell Avenue, #9, Chicago, was arrested on charges of Driving with No Valid Driver’s License on the 3600 block of Touhy Avenue, on 12/13/2013.
