Northfield officers responded to reports of a man with two backpacks walking north along the Edens Expressway. Officers found a 51-year-old man from Canada who said he was walking back to Canada. Officers told the man not to walk along the highway.

A Northfield resident reported her electricity had gone out and she was stuck in the garage. ComEd was in the area that day performing tree removal and had informed nearby residents of a planned power outage. An officer manually opened the garage door to let her out.
