Memorial Statue Stolen from Lincolnwood School

While no motive has been reported, a recent spike in metal related thefts may explain the missing statue from Todd Hall Elementary in Lincolnwood.

A memorial statue created to honor students who died young was stolen outside Todd Hall Elementary this weekend, the Lincolnwood Review reports.

According to the Review, a grounds keeper noticed the metal statue missing outside Todd Hall, 3925 Lunt Ave., on Monday morning.

"I have no idea what happened," principal Ellen Shankar told the Lincolnwood Review. Shankar also noted that the statue hasn't been vandalized in the past, the story said.

"It is with much sadness to report that the beautiful statue of two children reading on a bench in front of Todd Hall (the school) has been stolen," the Lincolnwood District 74 school said on its website. "This statue represented the Todd Hall Wall of Courage in memory of the children that fought hard for their much too short lives."
