Men Robbed at Gunpoint of $14K, Car

Skokie residents were attacked by four offenders in the parking lot of a local 7-Eleven.

Two men from Skokie were robbed of more than $14,000 and had their vehicle taken at gunpoint on June 10 around 3 a.m.

According to police reports, the two victims traveled to the  7-Eleven store at 4834 Church St. While one went into the store, the other stayed inside the vehicle.

While waiting for his friend, a man approached the driver’s side window and asked for the time. Seconds later, a second suspect opened the victim’s passenger side door and pointed a gun to his chest, removing $13,000 in cash from the man’s pocket in the process. A third suspect stood behind the car, which all three would use to flee the area.

Meanwhile, the other victim was exiting 7-Eleven when he saw two guns pointed at his friend. He then ran inside the convenience store when a fourth suspect threw him down to the floor and removed $1,100 from his coat pocket. That suspect would later flee in an SUV, according to the report.

The two later told police they suspected the men had followed them from Evanston, but did not know their assailants or why they were targeted.
