Monday Blotter: After School Fight

Stolen purse, cash

A car parked in the 9000 block of Tamaroa Avenue was reported burglarized on Oct. 28. According to the report, a purse and about $200 in cash was removed from the vehicle. The woman added that she might have left her doors unlocked, the report added.

Cannabis

A 21-year-old Skokie resident was charged with possession of marijuana on Oct. 30. The man was driving and was stopped by police near Golf Road and Crawford Avenue for a traffic violation. Police would ultimately find less than two grams of marijuana inside the vehicle, the report stated.

Stolen bike light

A bicycle light valued at $25 was reported stolen outside the Oakton CTA Station on Oct. 29. The bike itself was not stolen, the report said.

High school fight

Police arrested four juvenile teens for fighting outside Niles West High School on Oct. 29 at 3:30 p.m. Some teens had minor injuries, but were treated by school staff. The teens were charged with disorderly conduct.

Ad boxes stolen

About $1,500 worth of advertising signs were reported stolen from a truck in the 3700 block of Touhy Avenue on Oct. 29. The signs were supposed to be used for advertising near bus and train stations, the report stated. The victim told police he believe scrappers took the signs, the report said.
