Banana battery

A store clerk was struck with two bananas after asking a customer seeking to purchase cigarettes for ID on Sept. 27. The fruit hit the clerk in the head and knocked off his glasses. The suspect would later flee the scene. The employee refused medical attention.

Stolen auto

A 2000 Toyota Celica parked in the 8200 block of Lincoln Avenue was reported stolen on Aug. 10. There were no drag marks or broken glass at the scene, according to the report.

Stolen scraps

A stack of scrap metal was stolen outside of , 4137 Main St., on Sept. 26. The owner of the business told police he had placed the items in front of his business outside. The total value of the metal is about $50.

Theft at nursing home

A ring valued at $2,300 was reported stolen from an employee working at , 4960 Dempster St., on Sept. 26. The worker told police she had taken the ring off and left it at her desk.

Cut cable

Police responded to the 3900 block of Kirk Avenue on Sept. 23 regarding a cut cable line. The victim told police he does not know who would cut his cable TV.
