Monday Blotter: Bomb Threat

Egging

Police responded to a criminal damage complaint in the 8900 block of East Prairie Road on Nov. 4. According to the report, a woman observed three dried egg yokes on her vehicle. The damage could not be cleaned off without damaging the vehicle, the report stated.

Identity theft

A man came into the Skokie police station to report an identity theft on Oct. 3. According to the report, several credit cards were opened under his name without his knowledge.

Police responded to a bomb threat at the Illinois Science & Technology Park on Nov. 1. According to the repot, an employee found a note that read, “There are explosives located and delivered throughout the building!! People will enter the building today, fully loaded … Today will be your Columbine!!!” the report stated.

There have been at least half a dozen bomb threats at the ISTP in the last two years, according to previous police reports. In each instance, security and police do a full sweep and have yet to find anything bomb related. The incident is currently being investigated, the report stated.

Shady theft

Police responded to a theft at Sunglasses Hut in Old Orchard mall on Sept. 3. According to the report, a customer stole a pair of sunglasses before exiting the store. No arrests were made.
