Monday Blotter: Burglaries and a DUI

The following arrest information was supplied by the Skokie Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction. At Skokie Patch, we update our blotter daily.

Speeder Gets DUI
A man heading west in the 3900 block of Dempster Street was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol on Nov. 10 around 2 a.m. According to the report, the driver was stopped for speeding and stopped in the middle of the street after being pulled over. While the suspect refused a Breathalyzer test, he was still charged with a DUI, speeding, improper lane usage and driving without insurance.

Stolen GPS Recovered
Skokie police found a GPS that was reported stolen from a parked vehicle on Nov. 10. Authorities discovered the programmed home address belonged to a Skokie resident who had reported the item stolen early last week.

Lifetime Locker Burglarized
Roughly $200 was stolen from a man’s locker at 5330 Old Orchard Road, on Nov. 11. The man told police his locker had been forced open, his gym bag removed and his clothing had been strewn about the area. While the victim relayed the incident to police, a Lifetime employee divulged that his locker had been broken into 10 days earlier.

Nissan Burglarized
A GPS device was reported stolen from a car parked in the 8200 block of Keating Avenue on Nov. 10. According to the report, the suspect(s) smashed out the driver’s side window to gain access inside the vehicle.
