Playing child-like pranks

Aland David Rubin, 54, of the 5000 block of Lee, was charged with disorderly conduct on Aug. 8 about midnight. Rubin was repeatedly ringing his neighbor's doorbell and running away. According to the report, Rubin was involved in an ongoing dispute with the neighbor and was arrested for a similar incident on a separate occasion.

Skokie police were contacted by the Andover Kansas Police Department on Aug. 17 regarding fraudulent use of a credit card. According to the report, more than $840 was withdrawn from an automated teller machine at Walgreens, 9150 Skokie Blvd., on Aug. 13. The victim told police he had never been to Skokie and that his credit card was in his possession.

Petty theft by employee

A 23-year-old man was arrested Aug. 14 for shoplifting from employer's store. After having the manager ring him up for a purchase, the suspect put a $3 hat in the bag when his boss was not looking and left. The manager was able to confirm the theft by showing Skokie police video footage.
