Monday Blotter: Dish Deception

Dish! deception
A man came to the Skokie police station to report a deceptive practice on Sept. 10. According to the report, an unknown person tried using the victim’s credit card to make a payment to Dish! Network, a cable service provider, using the man’s credit information.
Business vandalism

A business in the 8000 block of Monticello Avenue was reported vandalized on Sept. 10. According to the report, several windows were smashed out using a blunt object.
Identity theft

A woman reported that more than $1,400 was illegally withdrawn from her bank account on Aug. 21. According to the report, the suspect gave bankers her social security number and a fake Texas driver’s license with her information.
Domestic battery
Police responded to a battery complaint in the 9100 block of Skokie Boulevard on Sept. 10. According to the report, a woman alleges that her husband punched her several times before leaving to work. No charges were filed.
Theft from auto
A car parked outside Life Time Fitness, 5330 Old Orchard Road, was reported burglarized on Sept. 10. According to the report, a purse containing $200, several credit cards and a gift card were taken from the vehicle.
