Monday Blotter: DUI and Firecrackers

Driver stopped with drugs, firecrackers

Dennis L. Kelly, 62, of Skokie, was charged with possession of cannabis, driving on a revoked license, transportation of open alcohol, possession of fireworks and possession of a controlled substance on Sept. 20. Kelly was stopped in the 8800 block of Kenneth after officers saw him strike a curb.

About 25 grams of marijuana was found inside his vehicle, as well as three pills of vicodin and 24 packs of firecrackers. His court date was Sept. 25.

DUI

Jacob Goldstein, 36, of Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol on Sept. 11. According to the report, Goldstein was stopped in 4900 block of Dempster Street for speeding. While he refused to provide a breath sample, he failed the field sobriety test, police said. His court date is Oct. 19.

Graffiti

The words “KBO” were written with black spray paint on the side of a building in the 8200 block of Niles Center Road on Sept. 18.

Stolen Corolla

A Toyota Corolla parked in the 9000 block of Lamon Avenue was reported stolen on Sept. 24.

Theft from auto

A car parked in the 3700 block of Arcadia was reported burglarized on Sept. 24. While no items were missing, the vehicle was ransacked, the report stated.

Poor paint job?

A man reported that an unknown person poured a white liquid all over the passenger side of his vehicle in the 8100 block of Kilpatrick Avenue on Sept. 24.
