Monday Blotter: Brothers Battle; Bizarre Break-In

Battling brothers

Police responded to a domestic disturbance call on the 7900 block of Karlov between two brothers on Aug. 5. The victim told police his brother, Roni Shamoon, 41, was out partying and returned home about 10:30 p.m. That is when he asked him to leave. Police were escorting the victim to the back door when Shamoon lunged at his brother and screamed, "I'm going to kill you, man." A scuffle ensued between the two men, and Shamoon was eventually arrested for misdemeanor domestic battery.

Bizarre home break-in

Police responded to a residential burglary on the 5000 block of Suffield Court on Aug. 5. According to the report, the victim had been out of town for two weeks and returned to notice that his rear bedroom window was shattered. Police suspected that the electricity meter was torn off and used to enter the house, where religious candles were placed in the living room, basement and third floor. Nothing of value was reportedly taken.

Missing car plates

On Aug. 5 at 3:50 p.m., a motorist came into the Skokie police station to report the theft of his license plates. The victim said he parked his green '98 Toyota Camry on the 8100 block of Central Park on July 31. When he returned the next day, he saw his plates were missing.
