Monday Blotter: Large Theft at Apple Store

Big time theft at Apple Store

More than $2,000 worth of Bose headphones were reported stolen from the Apple Store in Old Orchard Mall on Dec. 26. According to the report, the suspect took two pair of headphones valued at $699 each and another four valued at $599 each, the report stated.

The report further said that the offender was the same individual who pulled a similar theft at an Orland Park store earlier that day. He was wearing the same clothing, too, according to the report.

Stolen Christmas lights

A woman reported her Christmas lights stolen from her home in the 9200 block of Forestview Drive on Christmas day. The lights were valued at $8.

Stolen hotel TV

A hotel manager in the 5200 block of Old Orchard Road reported that one of his unit’s televisions was stolen on Dec. 25 According to the report, a subject checked into the room and checked out the next day. When the cleaning crew arrived, they noticed the television missing, the report said. The TV was valued at around $700.

Pot possession

An 18-year-old woman was charged with possession of marijuana on Dec. 23 According to the report, the woman had less than three grams of cannabis in her possession. She was charged in the 5000 block of Dempster Street.

DUI

Lynn Taylor, 62, of Evanston, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol on Dec. 1. Taylor was stopped in the 3400 block of Dempster Street for a traffic violation. She had a blood alcohol content level of .101, the report stated.
