Monday Blotter: Man Swallows Bottle of Pills

Man swallows bottle of pills

A woman told police that a homeless man swallowed all of her prescription pills before exiting her vehicle and fleeing in an unknown direction on Aug. 7. The woman went on to tell police that the alleged suspect is homeless and that she is concerned that he may have overdosed on her medication.

A nurse came into the Skokie police station to report a battery complaint on Aug. 3. The woman alleges that another nurse struck her right leg with a linen cart before saying, “You don’t know who you’re messing with!” No charges were filed. 

Identity theft

A woman reported that an unknown person purchased a vehicle under her name on Aug. 6.

Attempted burglary

Police responded to a residential burglary in the 5100 block of Lunt Avenue on Aug. 8. According to the report, an unknown person(s) used brute force to gain entry inside the home. No items were reported missing, however.

No contact order violated

A Skokie man called police after his alleged stalker showed up outside his house on Aug. 7. The alleged offender took his index finger and put it to the side of his head before dancing in circles. No arrests were made.

DUI

Carlos Rivera, 31, of Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol on Aug. 9. According to the report, Rivera was stopped in the 4200 block of Oakton Street for a traffic violation. He allegedly had a blood alcohol content level of .132. Rivera was also charged with driving on a suspended license. His court date is Sept. 13.

Parking dispute

A woman reported that someone used a sharp object to scratch her vehicle after parking at Life Time Fitness, 5330 Old Orchard Road, on Aug. 9. The woman believes the suspect is someone she got into a dispute with prior to parking her vehicle, the report said. No charges were filed.
