Monday Blotter: Theft at Macy's

Deceptive practice

A man reported that an unknown person used his identity to purchase a car from Sherman Dodge in Skokie on May 17. According to the report, the alleged suspect purchased a Dodge Charger using the victim’s information.

Vehicle vandalism

A car parked in the 8500 block of East Prairie Road was reported vandalized on May 16. According to the report, both side mirrors were damaged using an unknown object.

Stolen cell phone

A man dinning at Magginos in Old Orchard Mall reported his cell phone stolen on May 17. The man told police that he last left his phone on a barstool.

Stolen GPS

A car parked in the 9100 block of Terminal Avenue was reported burglarized on May 19. According to the report, a GPS device valued at around $200 was stolen.

Theft at Macy’s

Lasey Kim, 42, of the 1300 block of Winona Street in Chicago, was charged with retail theft on May 19. Kim allegedly tried stealing a comforter from Macy’s in Old Orchard Mall. She was stopped by store security and later charged by police, the report said.
