Monday Blotter: Theft at U-Spy Store

Theft at U-Spy Store

A binder containing about 45 novelty ID cards was stolen from the U-Spy Store in Village Crossing on March 15. Obviously, the store had video surveillance of the incident and provided it to police.

Theft from auto

A car parked outside Marshall’s in the 9400 block of Skokie Boulevard was reported burglarized on March 12. According to the report, a Verizon Tablet was missing from the vehicle.

Vehicle vandalism

A car parked in the 9400 block of Lavergne Avenue was reported vandalized on March 17. According to the report, an unknown person used a sharp object to scratch the vehicle’s exterior.

Another car in the 9400 block of Lavergne Avenue was reported damaged on March 17. The driver’s side doors were scratched with a sharp object, the report said.

Art book theft

Leonid Eduard Grossman, 60, of the 1100 block of Castilian Court in Glenview, was charged with retail theft on March 15. According to the report, Grossman allegedly tried to steal an art book valued at $69 from Barnes and Noble in Old Orchard Mall. He was stopped by store security and then processed by Skokie police, the report said.
