Driver busted with marijuana

Kevin Jennetten, 19, of the 8700 block of Callie Avenue in Morton Grove, was charged with possession of marijuana on June 3 around 2 a.m. According to the report, Jennetten was stopped for a traffic violation near Enfield Avenue and Niles Center Road. Police found almost four grams of marijuana in a prescription bottle. His court date is July 19.

Suspect tries hiding out in apartment

Police were chasing several suspects after a theft at Old Orchard Mall around 3 p.m. June 11, when the group split up. One of them ran into an apartment complex and entered a unit with an unlocked door, according to the report.

Inside the unit, a frightened woman asked the stranger what he was doing inside her home. She had two children with her. Police ultimately caught up and detained the theft suspect, according to the report.

There were no injuries, and no further details were available.

Damage from auto burglary

Police responded to an attempted theft from a motor vehicle at the AMC Theater at 7000 Carpenter Rd. around 2:30 p.m. June 10. According to the report, a blunt object was used to break into the 2011 sedan. No items were reported missing.

Theft at Life Time Fitness

A man reported his cell phone was stolen at Life Time Fitness in the 5300 block of Old Orchard Road on June 1 around 7 p.m. According to the report, the cell phone owner left the device in a shoe while he played basketball. When he finished, he noticed his Apple iPhone was missing.

Vehicle vandalism

A car parked in the 4900 block of Church Street was vandalized on June 13. According to the report, a sharp object was used to scratch the vehicle.
