Niles North Athlete Dismissed From Team Following Arrest

An 18-year-old basketball player from Niles North High School was charged with battery on Jan. 27, police said. He has since been dismissed from the school's basketball team.

Lorenzo Dillard, 18, of Skokie, was charged with domestic battery on Jan. 27. Dillard attacked a woman known to him and broke her cell phone, according to the police report. The incident occurred in the 9100 block of Niles Center. The offender denied the allegations, but police were able to see visible marks on the victim, the report stated. His court date was Feb. 4.

Dillard played basketball for the Niles North Vikings, but has since been dismissed from the team, the Sun-Times reports.
