Niles North Director Jim DiJohn Charged With Stealing Electronics

Police named some items, said more charges are coming. An arrest is merely an accusation, not evidence of a conviction.



Skokie police have announced charges against Jim DiJohn, who resigned Monday from his post as director of security at Niles North High School after he was charged with a felony.  DiJohn had worked at the school for 13 years.

Skokie police released the following information:

Criminal charges have been filed against James DiJohn, 56 years of age, 6124 North Keystone Ave., Chicago, IL, in connection with a felony theft which originated at School District 219, Niles North High School, 9800 Lawler, Skokie, IL.  DiJohn is the Niles North Director of Security.  He was charged with one count of felony theft (over $500, less than $10,000) with additional charges pending.

Over a period of time, DiJohn reportedly acquired numerous pieces of electronic equipment from School District 219.  These items included portable radios, earpieces, chargers and radio accessories.  DiJohn reportedly sold some of the equipment via his personal eBay account.

DiJohn is scheduled to appear at the Second District Courthouse, Skokie, IL, on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at 9:00 a.m., Room #105.  Bond was set on Sunday, September 8, 2013, at $10,000, I bond.

This charge is a result of cooperation between the Skokie Police Department and District 219 personnel.
