Pistol Displayed, Man Injured in Aggravated Assault

Police responded to an aggravated battery complaint in the 8300 block of Keating Avenue around 11 p.m. in Skokie.

Officers responded to an aggravated battery in the 8300 block of Keating Avenue in Skokie around 11 p.m. According to police, the victim was playing pool at his apartment when he heard a loud noise coming from the basement. When he went to investigate, he saw that the door had been forced open and his friend wrestling with an unknown offender.

A second suspect would soon enter the basement and point a gun at the victim while his friend struggled with the first offender, police said. It was at that point that the resident pushed the pistol away from the offender. Both suspects would then flee the scene.

The victim’s friend sustained a minor head injury.

The first suspect was described as a black male, about 6-feet-tall, thin build and wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt. The second offender was described as a black male, about 5-foot-8, thin build and wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, police said.

At this time, it is unclear when the incident occurred. No further information is available.
