Police Called To 'Hostage' Situation That Doesn't Exist

Someone called in a report Monday afternoon, and police responded with a large presence.

Skokie police responded with multiple police cars Monday afternoon to a report of a hostage situation, but determined that there was no such event going on.

"We got a call that somebody was holding his girlfriend hostage, but nothing panned out," said Skokie Police Officer Joe Marzigliano.

"It turned out not to be bona fide. We're not sure if it was a prank call."

After the call came in, however, several police cars responded to the area, on Greenleaf between Skokie Boulevard and Niles Center Road.
