Ride From Stranger Leads to Sex Offense

A woman reported that she was approached by a man who offered to give her a ride home and later groped her in his car on Sept. 6. Police would later classify the incident as a sex offense.

The victim told police that she was waiting for the bus near Touhy and Kedzie avenues when the driver approached her and asked if she needed a ride. She agreed to get into the car because she was cold, according to the police report.

During the trip, the driver asked the woman if he “was going to get anything for driving her home.” He then allegedly went on to ask for oral sex, followed by fondling her breasts and legs, according to the report.

Frightened, the woman jumped out of the moving vehicle. She did manage to get the vehicle's license plate number and provided it to police.

No names were given in the reports, but both parties were older than 18.
