Wednesday Blotter: Burglars Caught in Act

Engagement Ring Stolen
A student at Everest College reported her $3,000 engagement ring stolen on March 1. The victim told police she believes a classmate is responsible for the theft, the report said.
Pink Bike Theft
A Skokie resident reported a pink bicycle stolen from her home in the 7900 block of Kolmar Avenue on Feb. 20.
Theft Suspect Flees Scene
A man suspected of breaking into numerous LA Fitness lockers on Feb. 27 fled the scene in a green van heading south on Kedzie Avenue after striking a gym employee.

License Plate Stolen, Victim Ticketed
A woman reported her license plate stolen from her 2001 sedan parked in the 8600 block of Harding Avenue on Feb. 29. The victim reported the incident on after she noticed a parking ticket for having no license plate.
Suspicion Men Walk with TV Through Yard
A Skokie resident in the 4100 block of Greenwood Road reported seeing two males walking through her unfenced backyard carrying a TV and a piece of luggage on March 1 between 12:30 p.m. and 12:57 p.m. Later that day, a neighbor reported suspicious activity regarding two males in the area. While canvassing the area, police discovered a nearby home had been burglarized and that a TV, computer monitor and jewelry were reportedly missing from the home.
