Skokie Crime: Armed Robbery, Man Slashed On Face, Public Indecency

The battery and slashing happened on the Skokie Swift. An arrest is merely an accusation, not evidence of a conviction.

Aggravated Battery on the Skokie Swift Train

During an argument on the Skokie Swift Sunday at about 10 a.m., two people began fighting, and one of them used a cutting object to slash the other person on the face and neck area, according to police reports.  After the train stopped at the Oakton Street station in the 4800 block of Oakton, the offender opened the door and fled the scene.  The victim was treated for his injuries.

On Sunday at abut 6:30 p.m., a man walked into the Public Storage Facility in the 8200 block of Skokie Boulevard and requested a storage unit.  When the female worker began to show the suspect the unit, he displayed a handgun and told the employee to give him the money from the office, according to police reports.  The offender left with an unknown amount of currency.  He was described as approximately 5’8”, average build, white shirt wrapped around his head, large black sunglasses, thick brown beard, sleeveless black shirt, faded tri-color camo pants, and possibly driving a 1998 silver Toyota Corolla. 

Public Indecency: Man Observed Committing Lewd Act In Park

Around 4:30 p.m. Sunday, three female victims reported seeing a man performing a lewd act in the bushes while watching them sitting in Peccia Park, 5425 Brummell.  The offender was described as a male white, 20 to 30 years of age, 5’9” to 6’0”, thin build, black hair, green shirt and blue jeans.  The offender ran from the scene and then entered a silver, four-door vehicle.

Jewelry Stolen In Residential Burglary

Sometime Saturday evening, an offender used brute force to enter the rear door of an apartment in the 8200 block of Knox Avenue, according to police reports.  Once inside, the bedrooms were ransacked.  Jewelry and several pieces of documentation were removed.

$7,000 Cash Stolen In Residential Burglary

Sometime Saturday evening, an offender used a pry tool to enter an apartment in the 8200 block of Knox Avenue, according to police reports, and took $7,000 in cash.

Burglary From a Motor Vehicle

On Sunday between 4 a.m. and 10:20 a.m., someone entered a 2004 Infiniti parked on the 8900 block of Niles Center Road and removed an iPod Touch.

Driving Without a License

Ibrahim Asaad, 21, of North Kostner Avenue, Chicago, was charged with driving without a driver's license on the 5200 block of Touhy Avenue on Sunday.
