Skokie Crime: Assault with a Crowbar

The information is from the Skokie Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

Aggravated Battery
After a verbal altercation, the offender struck the victim in the head with a crowbar on the 7800 block of Lincoln Avenue at 11:45 p.m. July 31. The victim refused to sign complaints.  This incident is under investigation.

Theft
The offender walked into a business in the 4500 block of Oakton Street and grabbed the victim’s back pack on July 30 at 12:30 p.m. The offender was chased down by the victim. The offender was transmitted to Skokie Hospital for evaluation. 

Theft from a Motor Vehicle
A man was seen pulling on car doors and eventually entered a vehicle on the 9900 block of Karlov Avenue, at 3:30 a.m. July 31. He fled after being confronted by a resident. He was described as a white man, 30 to 39 years old, tall, thin, and wearing a striped shirt.

Retail Theft
Someone selected several items from Marshall’s Department Store, 9945 Skokie Boulevard, at 1:30 p.m. July 31 and left the last point of purchase without paying for the items.

Criminal Damage to Property

A car was keyed with a sharp object on the 9600 block of Skokie Boulevard, between 9:10 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. July 31.
