Skokie Crime: Mirror Used to Look Up Skirt, Battery with Umbrella

Battery
During an argument, an offender struck a victim with an umbrella causing the victim to strike the offender with her purse on the 5000 block of Dempster Street, between and 2:15 p.m. July 5. 

Two victims were attacked and battered by a known acquaintances on the 4900 block of Hull Street, at about 3:30 a.m. on July 6. Rafael Rodriguez, 21, of Skokie, was arrested on charges of battery after the incident, according to police. 

Criminal Damage To Government Supported Property 

An unknown offender used fireworks to damage a Village of Skokie garbage can on the 8200 block of Lowell at about 10 p.m. on July 5.

Unlawful Possession/Discharge of Fireworks

Luis J. Vargas, 17, of Skokie, was arrested on charges of unlawful possession/discharge of fireworks on the 8300 block of Skokie Boulevard at 10 p.m. July 5.

Theft: Pick Pocketing

While dining at Noodles & Company at 4999 Old Orchard Center, at about 2:45 p.m. July 6, a victim had her wallet removed from her purse. It was determined that a heavy set black woman, 30 to 40 years of age, wearing a purple shirt, white shorts, and purple gym shoes, along with a tall and thin black man, wearing a red baseball cap and a red basketball jersey, attempted to use the victim's credit card at Macy's department store, according to police.

Possession of Cannabis

During a traffic stop on the 8600 block of McCormick Boulevard on July 6 at around 1 a.m., officers arrested Do Hyun Yoo, of Chicago, for possessing $200 worth of marijuana in his backpack, police said. He was arrested on charges of possession of cannabis 30gm and under.

Theft
A red and white Schwinn tricycle was removed from the back yard of a residence on the 9200 block of Kilbourn Avenue, between 6 and 10 a.m. July 5.

Criminal Damage To Property

An unknown offender broke the driver's side window on a black Mitsubishi Montero on the 10000 block of Frontage Road, between July 4 at 11 p.m. and July 5 at 8 a.m.

Disorderly Conduct
A woman reported that while she was at Michael's Department store on the 7000 block of Central Avenue, at noon on July 5, a man attempted to look up her skirt by having a mirror attached to his shoe. When the victim turned toward the man, he walked away. 

Arrests

Carolyn D. Wysinger, 42, of Skokie was arrested on charges of a suspended/revoked driver's license, on the 5000 block of Dempster Street, on July 5.
