Skokie Man Shot In Evanston Sunday; Police Searching for Suspects

Update Monday morning:

Evanston police are searching for two suspects in the shooting of a 25-year-old man on Dewey Avenue Sunday afternoon.
The victim, who lives in Skokie, was shot in the ankle around 3:25 p.m. in the 1400 block of Dewey Avenue, according to Evanston Police Cmdr. Jason Parrott. He was taken to Evanston Hospital, where he is being treated for non life-threatening injuries.
 
Parrot said the investigation indicates that the shooting may have been a drug deal gone wrong.
"This was obviously involving some type of transaction between the offenders and the victim," he said.
Police are now searching for the two suspects, who drove off in a silver Chrysler after the shooting, according to Parrott. One is described as a 6'2" black man with a light complexion and a mustache, who was wearing a red hoodie and dark vest. The second suspect was described as a 5'8" black man with a light complexion and a mustache who was wearing a gray hoodie and baseball cap, Parrott said.

The man was shot on Dewey Avenue, Evanston Police Cmdr. Jason Parrott confirmed. He said police were unable to provide any other information as of Sunday night.
