Stray Bullet Lands in Resident's Home

A stray bullet went through the home of a Skokie resident in the 9100 Kilpatrick Avenue on Nov. 24. An Evanston teen was also charged with possession of a deadly weapon.

Police responded to a shots fired complaint in the 9100 block of Kilpatrick Avenue on Nov. 24 around 7:20 p.m.

Initial investigation revealed damage to a residence in the 4700 block of Davis Street that was caused when a bullet was fired through a glass window, police said.

When officers arrived to the scene, they saw a large group of male and female juveniles in the 9100 block of Kenton Avenue. The suspects would soon flee but were later apprehended in the 4500 block of Church Street. An Evanston teen, 16, was also charged with unlawful use of a weapon, due to his possession of brass knuckles, according to police.

According to police, many of the teens did not live in the area, and no injuries were reported. No further information is available at this time.

several teens from Niles North, Niles West and Mather High School in Chicago met at Emerson Park in Skokie to partake in a fight. 

In that instance, a Niles North student was stabbed and transported to two different hospitals to treat his injuries. 

A few days later, however, Skokie police charged a Chicago teen in connection with the stabbing.
