Read our update here

The Skokie Police Department has been working around the clock with Chicago and other area detectives since Monday afternoon. The reason: The department believes it's nabbed a serial hair salon bandit, who it says is responsible for 15 armed robberies that occurred in eight different municipalities, spanning two counties.

On Tuesday evening, the Skokie Police Department - along with Chicago detectives - followed up on investigative leads regarding the hair salon robberies.

"This is a complicated and time consuming process," the department said in a press release. "We continue to work with the offices of the Cook County and DuPage County State's Attorney. We are hopeful that criminal charges will be approved."

The department will hold a press conference today, Wednesday, Feb. 6, at 10 a.m., where it is expected to announce charges against a man it believes is responsible for robbing 15 different hair salons in both Cook and DuPage counties.

Check Patch later today for the details of that press conference.

What phenomenal work by our fine department. Truly we can be proud of them. It's amazing what feats they can achieve when working from a $31 Million dollar building with a little outside assistance from "Joe Citizen". Apparently when some average guy phones in the crack head's license plate while he zooms away from his latest heist, all that round the clock work suddenly pays off. "This is a complicated and time consuming process," the department said in a press release. "We continue to work with the offices of the Cook County and DuPage County State's Attorney. We are hopeful that criminal charges will be approved." A quote from above, attributed to "the department" (I can see why no one wanted their names attached to that one) ;) . Who says all that money and equipment isn't paying off. FIVE HUGE YEARS of lower crime. 2015 will make it 8 entire years that crime is down (I have to confess, I have a crystal ball and can spot a "trend" when I see one). Jeepers. With that great picture of all those news trucks parked in the gorgeous parking lot of our fancy police department, you just know SOMETHING BIG is going down. And this WASN"T one of those "Isolated incidents". NOT FIT FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION. KINDLY ESCORT THE NEXT GROUP OF LEMMINGS TO THEIR TELEVISION SETS AND COMPUTER MONITORS. Thank God for the assistance of Joe Citizen and the Department of Motor Vehicles. Next thing they will tell you is that he was driving uninsured to boot.
