Suspected Serial Hair Salon Bandit Nabbed: Skokie PD to Hold Press Conference

The Skokie Police Department will hold a press conference today, Wednesday, Feb. 6, regarding the arrest of a man that it says is responsible for a recent string of hair salon robberies in the Chicagoland area.

The Skokie Police Department has been working around the clock with Chicago and other area detectives since Monday afternoon. The reason: The department believes it's nabbed a serial hair salon bandit, who it says is responsible for 15 armed robberies that occurred in eight different municipalities, spanning two counties.

On Tuesday evening, the Skokie Police Department - along with Chicago detectives - followed up on investigative leads regarding the hair salon robberies.

"This is a complicated and time consuming process," the department said in a press release. "We continue to work with the offices of the Cook County and DuPage County State's Attorney. We are hopeful that criminal charges will be approved."

The department will hold a press conference today, Wednesday, Feb. 6, at 10 a.m., where it is expected to announce charges against a man it believes is responsible for robbing 15 different hair salons in both Cook and DuPage counties.
