An Evanston teen was indicted on felony charges in Cook County Circuit Court Tuesday after police say he shot a juvenile outside Old Orchard Mall this May.
Rayshawn Taylor, 17, of the 1900 block of Jackson Avenue, is charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm and unlawful use of a weapon in connection with the shooting, which took place at the intersection of Golf Road and Skokie Boulevard.

Police say Taylor shot a juvenile with a semiautomatic pistol around 9:45 p.m. May 17. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a male subject lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to his abdomen, who was in stable condition.

"This was not a random act," Skokie Deputy Chief Mike Pechter told Patch.

Taylor’s next court date is set for Monday, July 8, at 9:30 a.m. at Cook County Circuit Court in Skokie, when he is expected to enter a plea.
