Three Gas Station Robberies In Two Days In Skokie

An arrest is merely an accusation, not evidence of a conviction.


The following information comes from the Skokie Police Department and Village of Skokie.

One gas station was robbed twice within two days.

Robbery

  • Robbery at 5055 Touhy Avenue, on December 26th between 11:58 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. Reported:  12/27/2013. An unknown male black subject, approximately 5’10” to 6’1”, heavy set, wearing an Under Armour hoodie, a black ski mask, blue jeans, black gym shoes and grey gloves, walked into the Shell Gas Station and demanded money.  The cashier gave the subject money and the subject fled westbound on foot.
  • Robbery at 5055 Touhy Avenue, on December 28th at 12:20 a.m.  Reported:  12/28/2013. An unknown male black subject, 5’8” stocky build, approximately 40 years old wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and a black mask covering the lower half of his face, blue jeans and gray/light blue gloves, walked into the gas station and told the clerk “Open the register or I will kill you.” The clerk turned over the money and the subject fled on foot, southbound on LeClaire.  The clerk told police that this is not the same subject that robbed them twenty hours earlier.

Armed Robbery

  • Armed Robbery at 3800 Oakton Street, Marathon Gas Station, on December 27th between 7:27 p.m. and 7:29 p.m.  Reported:  12/27/2013. Two male white subjects entered the gas station, one subject pulled out a handgun and pointed it at the clerk, demanding all the money.  Both subjects then fled the store through the parking lot, north on Hamlin. The first subject is described as a male white, 5’5”, skinny, wearing a red hooded jacket, knit cap that was pulled over his face. The second subject was described as a male white, 5’0” to 5’5”, stocky build, wearing a jacket and a knit cap that has “NYC” on the front.  This subject has a slight beard and no front teeth.  This is the subject with the handgun.
