Three Skokie Homes Burglarized Sept. 8-9

Two of the burglaries happened overnight. In at least one incident, residents were sleeping.



Three homes in Skokie were burglarized recently; one Monday evening and two others in the overnight hours between Monday and Tuesday. The Skokie Police Department provided the following information.

  • Residential Burglary on the 3600 block of Main Street, on September 8th between 4:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.  Reported:  09/08/2013. An unknown person(s) used a pry tool and brute force to gain entry into the residence.  Jewelry was stolen from the residence.
  • Residential Burglary on Salem Circle, between September 8th at 10:30 p.m. and September 9th at 6:15 a.m.  Reported:  09/09/2013. An unknown person(s) entered the residence through an open back window and stole electronics and cash. 
  • Residential Burglary on Salem Lane, between September 8th at 11:00 p.m. and September 9th at 7:23 a.m.  Reported:  09/09/2013. An unknown person(s) entered the unlocked home through a rear door while the residents were at home sleeping.  Various items were stolen including electronics and a purse.
