Piggy bank stolen in burglary

Police responded to a residential burglary in the 4600 block of Washington Avenue on April 11 around 9 p.m. According to the report, a pry tool was used to gain entry through the rear door. One inside, about $2,300 in cash, including $300 from a piggy bank, was stolen, police reported. Also taken were two laptops and an iPhone. Police are investigating the matter.

Slashed tires

A woman reported that all four tires were slashed while her vehicle was parked in the 4700 block of Main Street on April 12. According to the report, the victim could not point to a motive or suspect. The estimated damage was $400.

Another vehicle also had all four tires slashed while it was parked in the 5200 block of Grove Street on April 12. 

License plate stolen

A rear license plate was taken from a minivan in Skokie on April 12 around 9 p.m. The report did not state where the incident occurred.
