Thursday Blotter: Aggravated Battery at Jewel

Felony aggravated battery at Jewel

Police responded to a theft and battery complaint at Jewel, 9449 Skokie Blvd., on Feb. 16. According to police, a male teen attempted to steal several items from the store but was approached by an employee before he could leave.

The teen then got into a physical altercation with both police and employees. He was charged with felony aggravated battery, misdemeanor retail theft and resisting a peace officer.

Employee dispute

A restaurant employee in the 9700 block of Skokie Boulevard was attacked by another coworker after he handed him a dish to clean. The offender became upset at elbowed his peer in the jaw, the report stated.

$80K burglary

More than $40,000 in cash and $40,000 in jewelry was reported stolen from a home in the 7600 block of Tripp on Feb. 16.

Residential burglary

Numerous tools were reported stolen from a garage in the 5200 block of Arcadia Avenue on Feb. 15. Brute force was used to gain entry, the report stated.

Egging

Police responded to a criminal damage complaint in the 9600 block of Lowell Avenue and 4300 block of Bobolink on Feb. 16. According to police, an unknown person(s) threw eggs at two different homes.

Baby stroller stolen

A car parked in the 3900 block of Enfield Avenue was reported burglarized on Feb. 15. According to police, a $400 stroller was stolen from the vehicle.

Missing cell phone

A woman reported her cell phone stolen after shopping at a store in the 4800 block of Oakton Street on Feb. 17.

Retail theft

Angel Reddings, 19, of Chicago, and Deona Manney, 18, also of Chicago, were charged with retail theft on Feb. 17. According to police, the duo attempted to steal hair extensions from Sally Beauty Supply, 9440 Skokie Blvd.

Andrzej Debinski, 29, of Chicago, was charged with retail theft on Feb. 16. Debinski attempted to steal several software products from the Apple Store in Old Orchard Mall.

Karen Bright, 46, of Skokie, was charged with retail theft on Feb. 15. Bright attempted to steal a coat from Macy's in Old Orchard Mall but was stopped by store security and later arrested by police, the report said.

Child endangerment

David Wilkerson, 26, of Skokie was charged with aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol, child endangerment and driving on a suspended licenses on Feb. 17. Wilkerson was arrested near the 5000 block of Church Street.

A second offender, Brittany Jackson, 22, of Skokie, was also charged with child endangerment. No further details are available at this time.

Possession of marijuana

A 16-year-old teen was charged with possession of cannabis on Feb. 16.
