Thursday Blotter: Deranged Marriage?

Deranged marriage?

A woman came to the Skokie police station to report a disorderly conduct complaint on Feb. 17. According to the report, the woman’s cousin’s ex-husband has been sending out wedding invitations advising that the two are getting married. The woman went on to tell police that the man is “delusional” and that the alleged suspect has visited her parent’s home at least a dozen times, the report said.

The invitations went on to say that the wedding reception would be held at a banquet hall in Bensenville, the report said. No charges have been filed.

Residential burglary

A home in the 3200 block of Emerson Street was reported burglarized on Feb. 25. According to the report, a Blu-Ray device and Nintendo Wii were reported missing. The suspect(s) gained entry through a north side window, the report said.

Life Time Theft

A man reported his $300 jacket stolen from his locker while working out at Life Time Fitness, 5330 Old Orchard Road, on Feb. 26. The victim told police he did not place a lock on his locker, the report said.

Damaged vehicle

A car parked in the 4900 block of Oakton Street was reported vandalized on Feb. 24. According to the report, an unknown person busted out the rear window and punctured the tires. The victim told police she might know who is responsible for the damages, the report said.
