Thursday Blotter: Don't Talk During a Movie!

Please, no talking during the movie

An 18-year-old Evanston man was struck in the face while watching Haywire at the AMC Theater in Village Crossing on Jan. 21. According to the report, the victim was talking during the movie and a nearby patron asked him to stop. Words were exchanged and the 18-year-old was then allegedly struck in the face, the report said. Police were unable to detain the alleged suspect and no charges were filed.

Theft at Bloomies

Jamesha Genal Dobbins, 18, of the 300 block of King Street in Chicago, was charged with retail theft on Jan. 21. According to the report, Dobbins allegedly tried stealing a North Face jacket valued at $180 from Bloomingdales in Old Orchard Mall. Her court date is for Feb. 28.

Locker theft at Life Time

Police responded to a theft at Life Time Fitness, 5330 Old Orchard Road, on Feb. 11. According to the report, a man said that three bathing suits, a pair of gym shoes and a black leather-grooming bag missing from his locker.

Unpleasant calls

A man came into the Skokie Police Station to make a disorderly conduct report on Feb. 15. According to the complaint, a man called his cell phone and began swearing at him in Assyrian.
