Thursday Blotter: Drive By Squirreling

Drive by squirreling

A man threw a dead squirrel into a driver's car in the 9200 block of Lowell Avenue on Jan. 21. According to the report, the victim had just parked her vehicle and an unknown person stopped behind her, stared at her and proceeded to throw the squirrel into her vehicle.

A home in the 3300 block of Crain Avenue was egged on Jan. 21.

Theft from auto

An iPod was reported stolen from a parked vehicle in the 4900 block of Hull Street on Dec. 30.

Stolen change

About $5 in loose change was reported stolen from a car parked in the 9200 block of Lorel Avenue on Jan. 13.

Stolen auto

A van parked in the 4800 block of Wright Terrace was reported stolen on Jan. 14. The victim believes someone known to her to her vehicle, the report stated.

Workplace theft

A woman reported $500 in cash and a ring stolen from her workplace in the 8200 block of McCormick Boulevard on Jan. 14.

Stolen plates

A man reported his rear license plate stolen from his parked vehicle in the 4700 block of Madison Avenue on Jan. 14.

Garage burglary

A garage in the 10000 block of LaCrosse Avenue was burglarized on Jan. 1. According to police, a GPS unit was removed from a parked vehicle inside the garage.

Grab-and-go at Ulta

Police responded to a theft at Ulta, 5481 Touhy Ave., on Jan. 4. According to the report, a customer selected two Chanel perfumes and exited the store without paying. No arrests were made.

Stolen coat

A woman reported her coat, car keys and several credit cards stolen after hanging her jacket in a common area at the Weber Center, 9300 Park Place, on Jan. 17.

Locker theft

A woman reported her Vera Bradley purse and cell phone stolen from her gym locker at Lifetime Fitness, 5330 Old Orchard Road, on Jan. 21.

Grand theft auto

A car parked in the 7800 block of Lamon Avenue was reported stolen on Jan. 21. The victim told police that her vehicle was locked.

Another vehicle was reported stolen on Jan. 21. A car parked in the 7800 block of Kenton Avenue was reported missing around 6 a.m.

Vehicle vandalism

A car parked in the 10000 block of Frontage Road was reported vandalized on Jan. 22. According to the report, an unknown person(s) smashed out the driver's side window. No items were reported missing.

DUI

Ivy Hill Hall, 28, of Buffalo Grove, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol on Jan. 7. Hall was stopped for improper lane usage in Skokie.
