Thursday Blotter: Grown Man Robs Boy

Stolen auto

A woman reported her car stolen from the 7800 block of Kilbourn Avenue on Sept. 20. According to the report, the passenger side door was not locked. The woman also told police that she might have left her key in the ignition, the report said.

Grown man robs little boy

An 11-year-old boy was robbed of his cell phone while playing football in the 9000 block of Lamon Avenue on Sept. 20. According to the report, the boy was taking a break from playing football and a man approached him, took his phone and fled. The suspect was described as a black male, about 20-30 years of age and 200-pounds. No arrests were made.

Bike thief nabbed

Edward White, 19, of Skokie, was charged with theft after he allegedly attempted to steal a bike from the 8500 block of Lotus Avenue on Aug. 28. Police were able to catch up with White and charge him, the report said. Officers were also able to return the bicycle to the rightful owner.

Stolen vehicle recovered

Police were dispatched to Lamar Auto to recover a vehicle stolen from Kenilworth on Sept. 3.
