Thursday Blotter: Man Marches with Rifle

Stolen plates

A woman reported her vehicle plates stolen after she parked her car in the 7000 block of Carpenter Road on Dec. 25.

Police responded to a criminal damage complaint in the 8900 block of Forestview on Dec. 21. According to the report, an unknown person(s) set a Village of Skokie recycling container on fire. Public works stated the bin was valued at $60, the report said.

Stolen wallet

A woman reported her wallet stolen while shopping at Jewel, 9449 Skokie Blvd., on Dec. 20. The woman left her purse unattended in her shopping cart while she looked for an item, the report said. The wallet contained $50 in cash and several credit cards.

Man marching down with rifle

Police responded to the 8500 block of McCormick Boulevard for a report of a man marching down McCormick Boulevard with a rifle. According to the report, the man was walking down the street in green and black camouflage, skullcap and black vest with a rifle and attached scope. No arrests were made and no shots were reported fired.

Vehicle vandalism

A woman reported that an unknown person(s) smashed out the rear window of her vehicle parked in the 8800 block of Lincolnwood Drive on Dec. 26.

Stolen radio

A man reported his front radio plate stolen from his vehicle that was parked in the 5000 block of Jarvis Avenue on Dec. 24.
