Property egged again

A car parked in the 9200 block of Kildare Avenue was egged on July 4. According to the report, the owner said this is the fourth time her property had been vandalized in such a manner.

Stolen cell phone

A woman came into the Skokie police station to report a missing cell phone on July 4. According to the report, the phone was taken while the woman was on vacation in Wisconsin. It was valued at $155.

Stolen Semi

A semi parked in the 7200 block of Linder Avenue was reported stolen on July 4. According to the report, the owner was unable to determine how it was removed. Last year, at least three semis were reported stolen in the same area.

Stolen auto

A 1990 sedan was stolen while parked in the 4700 block of Davis Street on July 5. According to the report, there was no physical indication of how the vehicle was taken from the scene.

Big time burglary

More than $6,000 in tools was stolen from a storage shed in the 7300 block St. Louis Street on July 5. According to the report, the items were removed from three trucks parked in the area. No signs of forced entry were discovered.

July 4th vandalism

Skokie police responded to a criminal damage compliant at Hamlin Park on June 7 around 10 a.m. According to the report, several explosive devices were used to damage two steel garbage cans.

Car burglarized

A car parked in the 3900 block of Dobson Avenue was reported burglarized on July 5. According to the report, a GPS device and a variety of CDs were taken from the vehicle.

DUI

Romeo Ponsaran, 66, of the 4300 block of Lyons Avenue in Skokie, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol on July 5 around 1 a.m. Ponsaran was stopped in the 8000 block of Skokie Boulevard for a traffic violation and had vomit on his pants, police reported. His blood alcohol content level was .155. Ponsaran’s court date is set for Aug. 2.

Rico Mendoza, 33, of the 2400 block of Spaulding Avenue in Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol on July 5 around 12 a.m. Mendoza was stopped near Dempster Street and Lockwood Avenue for a traffic violation. While Mendoza refused to provide a Breathalyzer sample, he did fail a field sobriety test. His court date is July 12.
