Thursday Blotter: Showdown At Portillo's

Fire pit

Police responded to the 8200 block of Keating Avenue regarding an unknown person using a fire pit on Aug 24. When police arrived, they saw nothing unusual and no charges were filed.

Police responded to a battery complaint outside Portillo’s, 9400 Skokie Blvd., on Aug. 22. When officers arrived they saw “numerous females” fighting, according to the report.

One of the suspects told police that she was working in the drive thru line when a woman approached her and said, “You stupid b****! You gave my boyfriend an STD!,” the report said.

The same woman then allegedly threw a large chocolate shake at the Portillo’s employee. The shake hit the woman’s chest and splattered all over her, the report stated. A struggle between the two would soon ensue, but employees ultimately broke up the scuffle.

The woman who threw the shake would later flee the scene. No arrests were made.

Busted window

Police responded to a criminal damage complaint in the 9200 block of Gross Point Road on Aug. 23. According to the report, an unknown person threw a large rock throw a building’s window. No arrests were made.

Stolen bike

A man reported his bicycle stolen from the 8900 block of Ewing Avenue on Aug. 22.

A bike valued at around $700 was reported stolen from CTA Oakton Stop, 4800 Oakton St., on Aug. 22.
