Thursday Blotter: Village Hall Disturbance

The following arrest information was supplied by the Skokie Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction. At Skokie Patch, we update our blotter daily.

DUI

A man was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol on April 14 around 3 a.m. According to the report, the man was stopped for a traffic violation in the 8800 block of Skokie Boulevard. Police would later find a bottle of rum in the man's vehicle. The suspect also had a blood alcohol content level of .99.

Suspicious circumstances

Police responded to a suspicious circumstances complaint in the 9400 block of Skokie Boulevard on April 13 around 7 p.m. According to the report, three teens were asking for donations for one of their friends. The teens were telling people that their friend was killed last year. When police arrived, the teens fled, the report said. No charges were filed.

Criminal damage

A car parked in the 5000 block of Culver Street was reported vandalized on April 13. According to the report, an unknown person shattered the driver's side window.

Assault

Police responded to a suspicious incident that was later classified as an assault on April 13. According to the report, a man approached another man in the Salvation Army parking lot, 4300 Oakton St., and told him he "isn't welcome" here. The suspect was described as a white male, about 30 years of age and 200-lbs.

Theft from auto

A car parked in the 4900 block of Crain Street was reported burglarized on April 12. According to the report, an unknown person used unknown means to remove the rear license plate.

Theft at LA Fitness

A man reported that an unknown person broke into his locker while working out at LA Fitness on April 13. The victim told police that his Blackberry cell phone was missing, the report said.

Village hall disturbance

Police responded to a disorderly conduct complaint at Skokie Village Hall on March 2 around 8:30 a.m. According to the report, a man began complaining about a parking ticket he had received. He then became loud and argumentative and refused to lower his voice, the report said. Upon exiting, the alleged suspect opened the door violently, but no damage was caused.
