Man allegedly steals carton of smokes

A man allegedly stole a carton of Newport cigarettes from BP Gas Station, 4511 Golf Road, on Aug. 6. The suspect told the clerk that he wanted a carton and then took the smokes and ran out the front door.

A woman reported that an unknown person withdrew more than $3,500 from her bank account without her permission on Aug. 6.

Basketball dispute

A teen was charged with battery after getting into a fight about who could play on the basketball court at Oakton Park, 4701 Oakton St., on Aug. 6.

Retail theft

Gordon Miller, 18, of New York and Darin Jerodo Gillenwater, 18, also of New York, were charged with retail theft on Aug. 6. The duo allegedly selected several polo shirts from Lord and Taylor in Old Orchard Mall and fled the store without paying.

Battery

A teen was allegedly hit in the face while studying for a test outside his home in the 4900 block of Kirk Street on Aug. 7. No charges were filed because the alleged offender fled the scene shortly after.

Rock to a Taurus

Police responded to a criminal damage complaint in the 8300 block of Avers Avenue on Aug. 7. According to the report, an unknown person(s) used a rock to damage the hood of a Ford Taurus sedan.

Grab and go at Macy’s

A man allegedly selected a pair of $150 shoes from Macy’s in Old Orchard and fled the store without paying on Aug. 7.
