Tuesday Blotter: Bilked Taxi, Identity Theft

Bilked taxi
Police were dispatched to the intersection of Madison and Kostner Avenues regarding a theft of services on March 3. According to the report, two white males allegedly ditched their $32 taxi fare and fled in an unknown direction.

Another taxi driver was bilked near the 9100 block of Skokie Boulevard on March 3. According to the report, the suspect ditched his $50 fare and fled the scene.
Theft at Life Time

Police responded to a theft at Life Time Fitness, 5330 Old Orchard Road, on Feb. 9. According to the report, an unknown person gained access to a locker and removed a leather change purse, gift card and $28 in cash.
Nicotine fit
Police responded to a disorderly conduct complaint at 7-Eleven, 8359 Skokie Blvd., on Feb. 29. According to the report, an Asian male tried buying 10 packs of cigarettes for $40. The clerk denied his request and the customer allegedly became hostile, the report said. No charges were filed.
Gas and go
Police responded to a theft at Mobil, 4802 Dempster St., on Feb. 29. According to the report, a woman prepaid for $10 of gas, but filled her car with more than $51 of gas. The woman then fled the scene, the report said.
Identity theft
A man came into the Skokie police station to report a deceptive practice on Feb. 28. According to the report, an unknown person made more than $230 worth of charges with the victim’s credit card on Walmart.com.
