Tuesday Blotter: Constipation Pills Stolen; $500 Stolen From Gym Locker

Restroom disappearance

A camera valued at $400 was stolen from a customer at Chuck E. Cheese on March 26 around 8 p.m. According to the report, the camera went missing after it was left in the restaurant's ladies room.

Police responded to a crash near Howard Street and East Prairie Road on March 31 around 12:30 a.m. One of the drivers involved in the crash, Isaja Kovacevic, 35, of the 6400 block of Bell Avenue in Chicago, appeared intoxicated to police, according to the report. Police later discovered he had blood alcohol content level of .165. His court date is May 2.

Shlimon Shimshon Shamoeil, 57, of the 6700 block of Artesian Avenue in Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol on April 3 around 1:15 a.m. According to the report, police stopped Shamoeil's vehicle near the 7800 block of McCormick Boulevard for a traffic violation. Police reported that his blood alcohol content level was .082.

Jaison Chacko, 30, of the 5300 block of Suffield Court, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol on April 7 around 2 a.m. According to the report, Chacko was leaving Skokie House, a bar in the downtown area, and drove off without turning on his headlights.

Chacko refused to provide a breath sample, but did perform the field sobriety test and show clues consistent with being intoxicated, according to police. His court date is May 13.

Smashed storage unit

A homeowner in the 9100 block of Skokie Boulevard had his metal shed smashed open on April 4. According to the report, no items were taken.

Wallet vanishes

A man left his wallet at a gasoline station counter on April 4 around midnight. According to the report, the man returned to the station and discovered that his wallet was gone. No video cameras were present inside. 

Constipation pills stolen

A Michigan man reported that his constipation pills and camera were stolen from his room during a stay at the DoubleTree Hotel in Skokie on April 7. Hotel management was unsuccessful in finding his items, according to the report.

$500 stolen from gym locker

A man reported that more than $500 in cash was taken from his gym locker while working out at Bally Total Fitness, 3220 Touhy Ave., on April 7. According to the report, the victim made sure that he locked the storage bin before he took a shower.

Graffiti

Police observed criminal damage on the west side of a business in the 4600 block of Oakton Street on April 9. According to the report, yellow spray paint was used to write the word “noah.” The business owner said he was unaware of the damage and that he would remove it immediately.

Business egged on

A business owner in the 9100 block of Gross Point Road reported that eggs were thrown at his front window, his door handles was broken off and scratch marks were made to the exterior of his property. According to the report, he suspected some nearby residents who were upset that their cars were being towed for parking in his lot.

Shoplifting arrest

Kellie Marie Anderson, 33, of the 4500 block of Drake Street in Chicago, was charged with misdemeanor retail theft on April 8 around 3 p.m. Anderson allegedly stole more than $600 worth of merchandise from the Nordstrom store in Old Orchard Mall. Store security also gave police several videos that showed Anderson committing the crime. Her court date is May 20.

Pot smokers busted

Police charged Hani Arabi and Amir Semsarieh, both 20 and from Skokie, with possession of marijuana on April 9. Police initially stopped the duo after receiving a call about a suspicious auto in the 8100 block of Kenton Avenue. Police later discovered a gram of marijuana and charged the pair with misdemeanor possession.
