Tuesday Blotter: Building Defiled

The following arrest information was supplied by the Skokie Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction. At Skokie Patch, we update our blotter daily.

Building Defiled 
An unoccupied building in the 4600 block of Oakton was graffitied April 12 around 12:46 p.m. An unknown suspect used red spray paint on the west exterior wall.  

Phantom Employee
A Skokie resident filed a complaint with police on April 16 regarding fraudulent use of his social security number. The man received a statement from the IRS that listed $7,000 in earnings from a Lincolnwood-based window company.

Garbage Can Defaced
A janitor for a Kale Realty building in the 8500 block of Niles Center Road reported that a black marker was used to deface a garbage container and traffic sign on April 14.

Bricked Again
A Skokie resident reported that a brick was thrown through the window of her residence in the 8400 block of Crawford Avenue on April 14. The damage is estimated to cost $100, the report said. The woman reported that two similar incidents had occurred when she lived in Evanston between 2000 and 2001.

Shattered Driver's Window
The driver's window of a 2008 Volkswagen Eos parked at the Hampton Inn, 5201 Old Orchard Road, was reported vandalized on April 14.

Lights Out
Blue exterior lights on a garage in the 7900 block of Keeler Avenue were reported vandalized on April 14.

Window Wrecked
The driver's side window of a car parked in the 8500 block of Crawford was reported vandalized on April 12. One of the victims said he noticed several rocks outside the window as well as metal rods.
