Tuesday Blotter: Teen Battered at McDonald's

Identity theft

A woman reported an identity theft at the Skokie police station on Jan. 10. According to the report, someone used her information to apply for Medicaid from 2005 to 2008.

No items missing in burglary

Police responded to a burglary in the 4600 block of Dempster Street on Jan. 20. According to the report, the offender(s) gained entry through a second floor window. However, nothing was reported missing, the report stated.

Battery reported at McDonald's

Police responded to a battery complaint at McDonald's, 4830 Dempster St., on Jan. 21. According to police, a juvenile was followed inside a restroom at the restaurant by two other teens. The subjects would then proceed to punch and kick the victim inside the bathroom, the report stated.  The offenders were known to the victim, police stated. No arrests were made.

Underage drinking

A male teen was charged for not having a driver's license and driving under the influence of alcohol on Jan. 25. 

Stolen phone

A man reported his cell phone stolen after visiting a bank in the 4200 block of Dempster Street on Jan. 10.

Vehicle vandalism

A car parked in the 4900 block of Old Orchard Road was reported vandalized on Jan. 11. According to the report, the exterior of the vehicle was keyed.

Employee reports theft

An employee at a business in the 8200 block of McCormick Boulevard reported $500 in cash and a diamond ring stolen from her office on Jan. 14.

Home burglary

An Apple MacBook Air was reported stolen from a home in the 7400 block of Kildare Avenue on Jan. 15. According to the report, brute force was used to gain entry through a back door of the residence.

A home in the 8900 block of Samoset Trail was reported burglarized on Jan. 16. According to the report, numerous pieces of jewelry were missing from the home.
