Theft from motor vehicle

A Guess brand purse was stolen from a vehicle parked at the Oakton Aquatic Center in the 4600 block of Oakton Street on July 15. According to the report, a blunt object was used to gain entry into the vehicle.

Another vehicle parked at the Oakton Aquatic Center was burglarized on July 15. According to the report, a Guess brand purse was taken from the victim’s car. Several credit cards and an iPhone were also reported missing. Similarly, a blunt object was used to shatter the driver’s side window to gain entry.

Stolen plate sticker

A man reported that his license plate sticker was removed from his vehicle on July 16. The owner told police the incident might have occurred in May.

Stolen purse

A woman reported that her purse was stolen after it was left unattended in her backyard in the 8900 block of LaCrosse Avenue on July 16. According to the report, a cell phone, LINK card and several credit cards were also taken. It was later discovered that more than $350 in unauthorized purchases were charged on the credit cards.

Stolen auto

A 1995 Saturn sedan was stolen from the parking lot at Village Crossing shopping center on July 15. According to the report, the driver left the windows slightly open and was in possession of keys.

Living room set stolen

A couple residing in the 9000 block of LaCrosse Avenue reported having their leather sofa, love seat, coffee table, end tables and lamps stolen from their home. According to the report, several other high-priced items, including a laptop and high-definition TV, were left untouched.

The couple told police that they were being evicted, but had yet to show up in court.

The report noted that brute force was used to gain entry to the residence.
